Individually hand crafted in South Korea from highly purified New Zealand kaolin clay. The pieces have a deep transparent surface, three times stronger than standard porcelain thus creating the most exquisite white porcelain available. These gorgeous pieces and modern designs make a stunning showpiece in any home. We have listed below the comprehensive process involved in creating these pieces of art. 1. The creation process begins with the kaolin clay pumped through fine filters to ensure there are no impurities and then poured into handcrafted moulds. 2. When each piece is dry it is removed from the mould and left to rest for 24 hours. Each piece at this process is checked and cleaned. 3. The first firing is for 5 hours at 800 degrees, each piece is then allowed to cool, cleaned and glazed. 4. The second fire is for 13 hours at 1300 degrees. 5. Once cooled the artwork is applied by hand and fired again for 3 hours at 850 degrees 6. Each piece is then individually checked again for any imperfections. 7. Gold or silver gilding is applied by hand using Japan gold. 8. Once the gilding is complete, each piece is fired again for 3 hours at 800 degrees. 9. In the final process the base of each piece is polished and checked by quality control to ensure it is perfect and ready to be boxed. This process produces fine white porcelain teaware with the same heat conducting properties as the finest bone china.
